My roommate from university just got engaged and I was stoked to make her a congratulatory card! When I was first introduced to Studio Katia designs a little while ago I was really pumped to learn they were a Canadian company! One of my new year's resolutions is to support more local places so I was very excited to get some of their awesome products recently. Here's what I came up with:

Paper - White Daisy, Black, Sea Glass, Whisper, Gold Foil (CTMH);
Stamps - Floral Bliss (SSS);
Dies - Dotted Patterns: Loops (Studio Katia); Mini Hearts Set (SSS); Uncorked (PTI);
Embellishments - Iridescent Heart Crystals (Studio Katia).

I was itching to make a card tonight with the beautiful new Chelsea Gardens paper collection from Close To My Heart. The picture over at Inspired By... made me think of these papers and I wanted to try the shadowed sentiments technique from Make It Monday. I am also linking up to the Heart2Heart "winter blues" challenge.

I cut the 'you' die out several times and glued them all together to make it stand out more and decided to do second generation stamping with Charcoal to achieve my shadowed sentiment.
Paper - White Daisy, Glacier cardstock; Chelsea Gardens paper collection (CTMH);
Ink - Charcoal (CTMH); Stamps - You Matter (SSS);
Dies - You (SSS); Noted: A2 Vertical Die Collection (PTI);
Embellishments - Chelsea Gardens Dots & Gems (CTMH).

I'm still learning all of the fun things my distress oxide inks can do and set out to make a card for my Mom with some new dies! She makes everything seem doable and has been a HUGE help since our son, Harvey, has arrived, so I wanted to make her a fun thank you card. When I saw this Best Ever set from Studio Katia I knew it would be great. I used Freshly Made Sketches for the layout.
Paper - White Daisy, Black, Silver foil (CTMH); Distressed Watercolour paper (Tim Holtz);
Ink - Cracked Pistachio, Worn Lipstick distress oxide inks (Tim Holtz); Archival Black (CTMH);
Stamps - Best Ever (Studio Katia);
Dies - Stitched Rectangles (Memory Box); Best Ever (Studio Katia); Mini Hearts Set (SSS)

Snowy Bday

Here is a birthday card I put together inspired tonight inspired by the Inspired By challenge picture (I'm so stoked to see this challenge back on!). I decided to try something new by layering the snowflake dies and using the confetti embossing folder as snow falling to link up with the "something new" challenge over at Heart2Heart.
Paper - White Daisy, Kraft cardstock (CTMH);
Stamps - Say It In Style (CTMH);
Ink - Charcoal (CTMH);
Embossing Folder - Confetti (CTMH);
Dies - Snowflakes (CTMH); Charming Oval (Verve);
Embellishments - Le Pen; Pearl Opaques (CTMH).

I got some time to play around a bit more with my distress oxide inks and a new stamp set and dies I got for Christmas so I decided to make up a few birthday cards. Can't wait to keep experimenting!
Paper - White Daisy, Black cardstock; Distressed Watercolour paper (Tim Holtz);
Ink - Cracked Pistachio, Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink (Tim Holtz);
Stamps - You Matter (SSS); Dies - Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical Die Collection (PTI);
Embellishments - Crystal Clear & Sparkle gumdrops (YNS).
