Trying to be time concise and low-waste, I decided to text out a picture of the invitation this year instead of making multiple invitations. This way I was able to take the time I wanted to make the invitation really special and afterwards I will stick it in Harvey's photo album.
I was SO excited to see a favourite sketch challenge come back this week - Mojo Monday! I needed a birthday card for my friend's daughter and set to work. She is born on Halloween, 5 days after my son! Jamie and I grew up across the street from each other, so it is pretty neat to have our kids so close in age.
Last October I was stoked to see the arrival of a beautiful fall set from Verve stamps. I fully intended on making a few fall cards with it, but SURPRISE! Harvey decided to come a few weeks early and then once I got back into my craftroom the snow was flying :). I knew that I wanted to incorporate these Verve pumpkins somehow without making a full on Halloween card. I had intended on colouring the pumpkins but ended up quite liking them in the white. This sweet little owl seemed to be fitting and I know I'll get lots of use out of this October birthday set from Papertrey Ink. Finally, I paired all of this with some fun paper I received from Lawn Fawn in my package - check out the name of it! I am linking up with the Lawn Fawnatics "bling it out" challenge and the "animal antics" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I also decided to make a little matching tag to go along with the card!

Paper - White Daisy, Black, Kraft, Silver glitter (CTMH); Wicked Witch Line Dance (Lawn Fawn)
Stamps - Jump for Joy (Lawn Fawn); Birthday Classics: October (PTI); Falling Leaves (Verve)
Dies - Stitched Circles (SSS); Falling Leaves (Verve); Shaker Tag 1 (Studio Katia)
Ink - Archival Black (CTMH); Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed distress ink (Tim Holtz)
Markers - N65, N95, 933 (Tombow)

FabricLand released some NHL prints this fall and I thought it would be cute to do up Brooklyn's gift in a little bag of her Daddy's favourite team.

It's my baby's 1st birthday this week! Harvey turns one on Friday and I thought it best to get his card finished earlier in the week so that I can focus on finishing up a few other things for his big day. When I started thinking about his birthday theme awhile ago, I knew I wanted to do something with mountains and woodland animals. Lawn Fawn seemed like the perfect company that carried what I needed. To make this card, I started out with Freshly Made Sketches and decided to turn the sketch on its side. I thought it would be fun to paper piece some leaves together for my leaf pile that the fox is jumping into and I added some sparkly gold paper to be celebratory and to play along with the Lawn Fawnatics "bling it out" challenge. I am also linking up with the "animal antics" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Paper - White Daisy, Black, Gold sparkle cardstock (CTMH); Knit Picky Fall (Lawn Fawn)

I've been wanting to get this older Close To My Heart wreath set for awhile now this fall. When I saw the current layout over at Freshly Made Sketches, it just screamed wreath to me! Needing some sympathy cards, I felt the wreath could serve as a warm heartfelt sympathy card. I intended to add the "three" items to the wreath at the bottom like the sketch, but it just looked too busy with this wreath, so I chose to make this paper bow instead.
Paper - Espresso, White Daisy cardstock (CTMH); Knit Picky Fall (Lawn Fawn)
Ink - Goldrush, Sunset, Cocoa (CTMH); Antique Linen distress ink (Tim Holtz)
Stamps - Remarkable Wreath (CTMH); Blessings (Verve)
Dies - Wonky Stitched Squares (MFT); Perfect Bow (SSS)

It is definitely sweater weather here in the Kootenays and I am having lots of fun with these sweet little Lawn Fawn critters! I am still playing around with how best to colour them. I put together this simple cozy card for a friend and to play along with the "awesome autumn" challenge over at Lawn Fawnatics.
