Blueberry Mojito Jam

Yes, it is just as delicious as it sounds! I got this recipe from my friend, Nadine, who happened to grow blueberries and mint in her garden this year for us to use.
6 cups fresh blueberries
1 tbsp. grated lime peel
3 tbsp. lime juice
6 fresh mint sprigs
1 package fruit pectin
4 cups sugar

Crush most of the berries. Stir in lime peel, lime juice, and mint. Stir in pectin.

Bring mixture to a full boil, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar. Return to a full boil, stirring constantly. Boil hard for 1 minute.

Remove from heat. Take out mint and discard. Quickly skim off foam with a metal spoon.

Ladle hot jam into hot sterilized quarter-pint canning jars, leaving a 1/4 inch headspace. Wipe jar rims; adjust lids and screw bands.

Process jars in a boiling-water canner for 10 minutes. Remove jars from canner and cool.

Makes 12 quarter-pints.

What a way to make a livin' ;). It's getting close to that time of going back to work for me - eek! In the meantime, we at Close To My Heart have been working hard to get ready for the release of our new Annual Inspirations idea book, which goes LIVE September 1! Contact me to get your copy.

Here is another look at one of our NEW paper collections, Zoe. I made this card to celebrate our friend's little guy turning 3! He loves "working hard" with his toy trucks.

All supplies are Close To My Heart:
Paper collection - Zoe; White Daisy cardstock;
Stamp set - Fast and Furious; Ink - Glacier, Slate, Whisper, Black;
Embellishments - Extra Thick Glacier twine.

Now it's your turn to be inspired by our Workin' 9 to 5 theme at Heart2Heart!
How cool, it is the 200th sketch for Freshly Made Sketches! I started off in one direction with this card but totally went another way after being inspired by this card from the sponsors' design teams gallery! My overall design takes a few liberties with the sketch, but I hope it still counts ;)
Paper - Distress Watercolor Cardstock (Tim Holtz), White Daisy, Kraft, Blossom patterned papers (CTMH);
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Watercolour Pencils (CTMH);
Stamp set - Let's Get Sip Faced (Unity Stamps); Die - Stitched Rectangles (Memory Box); Ribbon - Waxy Flax (CTMH).
...just add water ;)

When I saw this stamp from Art Impressions I began to think of numerous people who would love it. I recently got some watercolour pencils and am enjoying experimenting with them! I am linking up with the Anything Goes challenge at Art Impressions, the beach challenge at The Paper Players, and the layout over at Retro Sketches!

I used some tips from my Auntie Karen, who designs for Art Impressions and has a fabulous Photographing Cards Tutorial. I am quite happy with how the picture of the card turned out :)

Paper - Kraft, White Daisy (CTMH); Distress Watercolor Cardstock (Tim Holtz);
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento); Stamp - Pleasures Window (Art Impressions);
Embellishments - Gold Medley button, Black Hemp (CTMH).
This week at Heart2Heart our theme is Ticket to Ride. This challenge will be open for the rest of the month!
All supplies are Close To My Heart
Paper - Seaside paper collection, Sorbet, Glacier, Desert Sand cardstock;
Ink - Lagoon, Smoothie; Stamp sets - Seaside Scrapbooking Workshop, Tropical Paradise;
Cricut cartridges - Art Philosophy, Artbooking.

It was our third anniversary in July and I like to scrapbook a page for each year. Chris bought me a paddleboard this year and I absolutely love it! It has been my "ticket to ride" across the lake as much as I can this summer :).
The night of our anniversary we had a lovely dinner at the St. Eugene Resort near Cranbrook and then the next day we took off for a trip to Osoyoos. We played a round of golf at the Osoyoos Golf Club (literally IN the desert, complete with cacti sticking to us!) and spent some time up at the Spirit Ridge Resort, trying wines at the Nk'mip Winery! It was a nice trip :)

Birthday Bash

A first birthday party is coming up for a special little girl this month, so I thought I would get onto making her card early! I wanted to try out making my own spinner card...and I definitely learned a thing or two in the process. It was also tricky to photograph! I am linking up with the birthday bash challenge over at Heart2Heart and the colours at Color Throwdown, too.

All supplies are Close To My Heart:
Paper - Zoe paper collection; Sorbet, Glacier, White Daisy cardstock;
Embellishments - Gold sequins, sparkles;
Cricut cartridges - Art Philosophy, Artiste.
