No Fooling H2H

We aren't fooling around this week at Heart2Heart and we want to see your fun scrapbooking layouts based on this theme! I have been working on our house album and decided to do a layout showcasing the building of our basement. With our first house, we held off on finishing the basement until after we moved in and learned it was more hassle than it was worth - you have to finish it at some point! So when it came to building this house we decided not to "fool around" and to do the basement as we were going along. To complete this project I used a CTMH layout from the book Cherish called "Give Me Ten". The layout features our new paperpack, Blossom, available in Seasonal Expressions 2, which goes live on April 1!

All supplies are Close To My Heart:
Paper - Blossom patterned papers; Lagoon, White Daisy, Sunset cardstock; Ink - Lagoon; Stamps - Sweet & Lovely;
Embellishments - Glacier extra thick twine; Liquid Glass; Cricut cartridges - Artiste, Artbooking.

Hope to see you in the gallery over at Heart2Heart!

Time for Tea invites

This week I have been busy making invitations for my sister-in-law-to-be's shower! We are going with a tea theme, so I was stoked to pull out my fun Verve stamps.

I kept the layout simple starting with the Retro Sketches design. I wanted to keep the invites slightly rustic, but delicate and was inspired by the photo over at The Shabby Tea Room, which worked out perfectly with their wedding colours! I am also linking up with "anything goes" over at Simon Says Stamp.
Paper - White Daisy, Blush cardstock; Dotty For You, Perfect Day patterned papers (CTMH);
Ink & Embossing - White Daisy, Black, Silver (CTMH); Stamps - Coffee, Better With You (Verve);
Dies - Cuppa Joe (Verve); Cricut cartridges - Art Philosophy, Artfully Sent (CTMH).

Green with Envy at H2H

In celebration of the upcoming St. Patty's Day, we are going Green with Envy over at Heart2Heart! This week we want you to show us your favourite CTMH Green! One of mine would definitely have to be Pear, as it was one of my wedding accent colours! I must admit, I was green with envy when I saw the fabulous Seaside paperpack my friend ordered from me awhile ago, so I just had to get it myself!
All supplies are Close To My Heart:
Paper - Seaside patterned paper, Pear and Colonial White cardstock; Ink - Sweet Leaf;
Stamps - Curlicue Frames, Life is Tweet; Embellishments - Sorbet twine.
Shape cut from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.

Come and play along with us this month at Heart2Heart!

Stuffed Pasta Shells

This delicious meal has been one of my favourites for years now! I've played around with it and am pretty satisfied with this version:

Stuffed Pasta Shells
1 butternut squash
Olive oil
Cinnamon
Red Chili flakes
1 pkg. jumbo pasta shells
1 10oz. pkg. chopped frozen spinach
1 500mL tub Ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded Italian cheese mix
1 egg
1 large can tomato sauce
Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400F. Peel and chop butternut squash into 1-inch pieces. Toss in an oven proof dish with olive oil, cinnamon, and red chili flakes (more cinnamon will be sweeter, more chili flakes will give more of a kick). Bake in oven for 45 minutes.

Boil pasta shells according to package directions. Defrost spinach. Combine spinach, ricotta, shredded cheese, egg, and roasted butternut squash. Turn oven down to 350F. Stuff pasta shells. *I like to divide this recipe into three pans - 1 to bake, and 2 to freeze.* Pour enough tomato sauce to cover the bottom of a casserole dish. Set stuffed pasta shells on top of sauce. Cover tightly with tin foil. (Remaining shells can be frozen if desired. Defrost and bake for 40 minutes to serve). Bake for 30 minutes. Remove tin foil and grate Parmesan cheese all over shells. Return to oven for 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool a few minutes before serving. Full recipe makes enough for about 8 servings.
