We had Harvey's 5th birthday party on the weekend. He wanted a construction theme and I had the perfect set to use from Pretty Pink Posh.

 My baby turns one this weekend and to celebrate we had a penguin party! Coincidentally, Lawn Fawn, came out with a set this fall called Penguin Party and of course it was perfect for what I wanted to create! I started out by colouring up all of the penguins with my Tombow markers.

Here is the birthday invitation I designed this year for my son's 2nd birthday. I really wanted this picture to take place outside but the light that day really threw off these colours and editing does not seem to help! Oh well, I still love how the invitation turned out :). I have learned that it is much more practical for me to enjoy making one elaborate invitation and take a picture to send out to everyone to invite.

I am SO EXCITED to show off some plantable invitations! Someone in the family asked me to make some wedding shower invitations for their daughter and I couldn't wait to try them out using this paper and my Cricut. I found some awesome calligraphy pens to use in the Cricut and set to work creating a simple design with these beautiful plumeria flowers from an older Hawaiian Close To My Heart set. I am loving this plantable paper! You can see video of my planting experience with this paper on my Instagram highlights. This picture shows the wildflower seedlings that have popped up from me planting a Mother's Day card embedded with wildflower seeds! I am linking up to the Heart2Heart challenge to "get your craft on" because I certainly felt that way with this project!

Trying to be time concise and low-waste, I decided to text out a picture of the invitation this year instead of making multiple invitations. This way I was able to take the time I wanted to make the invitation really special and afterwards I will stick it in Harvey's photo album.

This week I have been busy making invitations for my sister-in-law-to-be's shower! We are going with a tea theme, so I was stoked to pull out my fun Verve stamps.

I kept the layout simple starting with the Retro Sketches design. I wanted to keep the invites slightly rustic, but delicate and was inspired by the photo over at The Shabby Tea Room, which worked out perfectly with their wedding colours! I am also linking up with "anything goes" over at Simon Says Stamp.
