Happy Happy Happy

Needing an anniversary card today that I could put together relatively quickly, I turned to some die cuts that I had previously done that were just sitting around my workspace. After playing around a bit, I was pretty pleased with how this card came together.
Paper - White Daisy, Black, Sea Glass cardstock; Silver Foil paper (CTMH); Burnished Rose Mirrored cardstock (SSS);
Dies - Scripty Happy Birthday Words (YNS); Mini Hearts (SSS);
Stamps - Say It In Style (CTMH).

Yay, I got another card finished to play along with the Spring & Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I am especially excited about this card because I made it while visiting my very talented and crafty Auntie Karen after we went to visit a cute local shop called The Workshop out in Stouffville, Ontario. It is also the first time, believe it or not, that I have ever used Copic markers! These Tim Holtz blueprint stamps are a favourite of mine and I was stoked to find some coffee themed ones. I found a great sketch through Sketchy Saturdays and I love how it turned out :)
Paper - Perfectly Plaid (Lawn Fawn); Cream and Sugar (Doodlebug); Cocoa cardstock (CTMH);
Stamps - Freshly Brewed Mini Blueprints (Tim Holtz);
Dies - Coffee word die (Verve); Stitched Rectangles (MFT);
Copics - BG15, BG13, BG11, E43, E41, E40.
It's the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Here is my (hopefully my first of more to come) card:

Paper - Black, White Daisy, Kraft cardstock (CTMH);
Stamps - Coffee Helps, Better With You, Blessings (Verve);
Dies - Happiness in a Cup (Verve);
Shapes cut from Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (CTMH).

Inside, I chose an Irish blessing that I knew the recipient would appreciate:

I was inspired by an instagram post by a store coming soon to Cranbrook this summer, Lane & Meadow, to create this card.

Asparagus season is here and I made a point of making a trip to my hometown to get some asparagus from the local farm there. Pickling asparagus has become a favourite of mine during the season.

This year I was encouraged to try this delicious recipe.
Asparagus Pastries with Thyme infused Honey
1 bunch of asparagus
Olive oil
Sea salt & pepper
2 sheets rolled frozen puff pastry, thawed
8 oz. brie cheese, cut into 8 pieces
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp. salted butter
Thyme sprigs

Preheat oven to 375F. Drizzle asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread out one sheet of pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4 pieces. Repeat with the other sheet. On each square of pastry place a slice of brie diagonally. Next, place 4-6 asparagus spears on top of the cheese. Take the two other sides of the square and wrap around the cheese and asparagus, pressing the pastry to close. Brush each pastry with egg.

Bake pastries in oven for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, create thyme infused honey by combining honey, butter, and thyme leaves in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil. When pastries are removed from the oven, drizzle the honey over top. Serve and enjoy!

We had this for dinner alongside a salad, but this would be most ideal for a brunch! Yum :)

Working with some ink blending I had done awhile ago, I decided to cut out some hearts. I needed a baby card and decided to create the sentiment "Happiness is You" using an awesome Verve stamp set and the Simon Says Stamp 'you' die. I used the Freshly Made Sketches layout and incorporated some vellum to play along with Heart2Heart.
Paper - Charcoal, White Daisy cardstock; Vellum; Charlotte paper collection (CTMH);
Stamps - Happiness Is (Verve);
Inks - Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers Oxide Distress Ink (Tim Holtz);
Dies - You (SSS); Hearts (CTMH);
Embellishments - Iridescent Hearts (Studio Katia).

Here is the card design I created to celebrate Mother's Day this year. I was stoked to find some of this older Close To My Heart paper collection that was a favourite of mine and then to use it with this beautiful quilt die. I am linking up with the Mother's Day challenge over at Heart2Heart.

Paper - Pemberley paper collection; Vellum; Kraft , White Daisy cardstock (CTMH);
Stamps - Mother's Day Workshop (CTMH); Dies - Quilt Square Cover-up (MFT); Twine (PTI).

Here's a look at the quilted designs behind the vellum. I was able to create four different "quilts".

Mahalo

Using Inspired By's time to garden theme and the want to create some thank you's in a Hawaiian theme, I pulled out this older Close To My Heart stamp set and created a simple design. I saw so many of these beautiful hibiscus flowers in Maui and it made me look forward to planting my own flowers soon back at home. I was able to create several of these cards fairly quickly, which was great!
Paper - Kraft, White Daisy, Black cardstock (CTMH);
Stamp Set - Hawaiian Hibiscus (CTMH);
Ink - Archival Black (CTMH);
Dies - Best Ever Coordinating Dies (Studio Katia).
