I just finished taking a wonderful Lawn Fawn Create with Us by Jenn Shurkus and was feeling inspired. I will post my creations later, but I needed a thank you card for my son's piano teacher, so I set to work with the supplies that were still out. I am linking up with the 'up, up and away' Lawn Fawnatics challenge!
I started by creating this beautiful background we used on one of the cards in the class. I had a panel of watercolour paper and created a wet area with my paintbrush. Next, I took the wet paintbrush to my Peacock Feathers distress watercolour pencil and added some colour to the wet area. I continued adding colour and working my way down the panel. For the last bit, I added in some Rustic Wilderness distress watercolour pencil.
I knew I wanted to use the Giant Outlined Thanks on the card and cut it out in white. I like how part of the inky background shows through. Next, I added in some birds from Backyard Bird Feeder.
To add in a musical aspect to the card, I stamped in some cute little music notes around the birds. I cut my watercolour panel out with the Lacy Rectangle Stackables and mounted it onto some Chocolate cardstock.
Paper: Chocolate (Lawn Fawn); Solar White (Neenah); Distress watercolour cardstock (Tim Holtz)
Ink: Black Licorice (Lawn Fawn); Peacock Feathers, Rustic Wilderness distress watercolour pencils (Tim Holtz)
Stamps: Backyard Bird Feeder (Lawn Fawn)
Dies: Backyard Bird Feeder, Giant Outlined Thanks, Lacy Rectangle Stackables (Lawn Fawn)
Very cute!
