Our nephews are getting into skiing, so for their flippy flappy card this Christmas, I decided to make a skiing themed card. I combined the Lawn Fawn Penguin Party + Yeti Or Not sets to setup a scene of penguins skiing/snowboarding. I started by creating my sky using a blend of Cracked Pistachio + Faded Jeans + Villainous Potion distress oxide inks. Once it was dry, I use the Snowflake Background Stencils to stencil in some flakes in White Daisy ink.

I used the Forest Line Border to create my ski hill out of White Glitter cardstock. I put one penguin coming down the hill and added a Santa hat to make him a little more festive!

The next penguin I wanted to be doing a flip in the air, so I put him upside down and the coordinating motion marks going up into the air to show what he was doing. I knew I wanted the border of my card to be the candycane striped paper from the Let It Shine collection. I used the Giant Merry Christmas die cut out in white cardstock and again in Let It Shine Snowflakes

We got our nephews a gift card to use at any of our local ski hills. I setup the flippy flappy mechanism to reveal a snowy gift card when you pull down on the arrow.

Here is a video showing the mechanism at work!
