 I haven't taken these out for the longest time, and as soon as I started playing around, I really loved it!

For my mother-in-law's birthday this year, I decided to create a set of cards for her with a wine theme. I wanted to keep the cards fairly simple and found some inspiration on Pinterest from Francine. I decided to use my MIL's favourite colours on each card - purple and green.
I came across this half-painted image in my craft room that I started over 4 years ago in 2015 during a trip to see my Auntie in Ontario! I love this fall scene and thought the pumpkins and grapes fit in with the circle theme over on the Art Impressions Blog! I really enjoy colouring with my Tombow markers and using a watercolour technique. I am also linking up with the STAMPtember Art Impressions linkup over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog.

I came across these beautiful squash at Kootenay Farm to Folk today and just HAD to put them in my picture along with these lovely pine cones I picked up on a neighbourhood walk.

Paper - Perfectly Plaid Chill (Lawn Fawn)
Stamps - Harvest TF (Ai); Birthday Greetings (Studio Katia)
Markers - N55, 158, 177, 451, 679, 969, 977 (Tombow)

It is my dream and goal to one day paint my front door turquoise. I think it is such a beautiful and calming colour and would love seeing it on my front door. For now, I'll settle seeing it on this beautiful wooden door from Art Impressions! I love painting this door. The original stamp is a snowy scene but I omitted some elements to make it an everyday door. I did one of the doors in a more turquoise tone and the other more blue. I can get frustrated, at times, while watercolouring with my markers thinking things aren't turning out the way I want them to, however, oftentimes when it finally fully dries (hours later) I am in love with the results! I wanted to keep the cards clean and simple and played around with the sentiment placement. I am linking up with the current watercolour challenge over on the Art Impressions Blog!

Paper - Distress watercolour paper (Tim Holtz)
Stamps - Wooden Door (Ai); Thank You (CTMH)
Markers - N45, 158, 373, 443 (Tombow)

I was in the mood to watercolour this weekend and pulled out this cactus set from Art Impressions. I followed along with the instructions on the back of this set while substituting a few different colours that I had. I decided to keep it pretty minimalistic and just mounted the watercolour paper onto this beautiful heavyweight Lawn Fawn paper with some foam tape. I am linking up with the current "outdoor scenes" challenge over at the Art Impressions blog.

Paper - Distressed Watercolour paper (Tim Holtz); Paper Bag cardstock (Lawn Fawn)
Stamps - Southwest, Foliage Set (Art Impressions)
Markers - NO. 15 olive green, NO. 18 dark brown, NO. 29 Prussian blue (Marvy); N65, 177 (Tombow)

This week I set out to make a card for my friend who just moved into her new house! I thought this Art Impressions door would be great for the front and used this Irish blessing on the inside from Verve. I put it all together using Freshly Made Sketches. I am also linking up with the Art Impressions challenge of using layers.

Paper - Grateful Heart paper collection; Watercolour paper; Gold Foil paper (CTMH)
Stamps - Wooden Door (Ai)
Ink - Antique Linen distress ink (Tim Holtz)
Dies - Stitched Rectangles (Memory Box); Happiness (Verve)

After getting inspired on Pinterest to get out my distress inks again and checking out the photo inspiration over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, I decided to create a fall scene using one of my favourite Art Impressions stamps.
Paper - White Daisy cardstock (CTMH);
Ink - Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserves, Fired Brick,
Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean distress inks (Tim Holtz); Archival Black (CTMH);
Stamps - WC Tree Set (Ai); Ever So Much (PTI).

I tried some other colour combinations and am happy to have a stash of these versatile cards on hand!

Here's a card I put together today to play along with the "flowers and foliage" challenge over at Art Impressions. I created this scene last summer with some helpful tips from my aunt and love how it all came together. A good reminder to the benefits of keeping it simple! It was a gorgeous fall day here so I just had to take this card outside to photograph amidst the trees!
Paper - Desert Sand, Fern cardstock (CTMH); Distressed Watercolour Paper (Tim Holtz);
Stamps - WC Containers, WC Foliage Set 2, Flower Cart (Ai); Sunflower Harvest (PTI);
Dies - Stitched Ovals (Memory Box); Embellishments - Waxy Flax (CTMH).
I love this watercolour tree set from Art Impressions and it has been my goal to create a card with this tree for each season this year! Here is my winter tree and my spring tree from earlier this year. I thought I would challenge myself to incorporate the Art Impressions challenge of creating an orange and purple card - not two colours I use very frequently! I am also linking up with The Paper Players challenge of CAS colouring. I made two versions of this card - one with a purple background and the other using an orangey-red background.
Paper - Adventure Fundamental paper packet (CTMH); Distressed Watercolour paper (Tim Holtz);
Stamps - WC Tree Set (Ai); Say It In Style (CTMH);
Markers - 126, 177, 676, 905, 992 (Tombow); NO. 15 Olive Green (Marvy);
Dies - Stitched Ovals (Memory Box); Stitched Circles (SSS);
Embellishments - Gumdrops (YNS).
