 Happy Mother's Day

Today's card features the Take Heart set released over at Unity Stamp Co. this month.

When I first saw this marigold I thought of my Mom! She always puts marigolds in her garden each year  and I thought this would make a perfect Mother's Day card for her!

Here's a plantable card that I made up for Mother's Day this year.

I am up on the Studio Katia Blog today with my first shaker card project! I am fairly new to the world of shaker cards and let me tell you, Studio Katia is the perfect spot to get all of your shaker card needs! With Mother's Day coming up soon, I wanted to make some personalized cards for both my Mom and my Mother-in-Law. What do you call your grandmother? Grandma? Nana? Nonna? Gigi? Oma? This written tutorial will detail how I made the 'Grandma' card and my YouTube video tutorial will show how I made the 'Nana' card. Supplies for both cards are listed and linked below.

I am up on the Studio Katia Blog today with a new project! To start off Earth week, I thought it would be fitting to showcase a zero waste card using plantable paper! This biodegradable paper is made in Canada using post-consumer paper waste and embedded with wildflower seeds. Because this card can be planted, I wanted to keep it one layer and not use any adhesives or embellishments. I took out the Gladiolus stamp set and stamped it in the middle of my card with black ink using my stamping platform. Next, I created a mask on a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 masking paper by stamping the flowers in the same spot using my stamping platform. I cut this mask out and saved the negative. I trimmed off the stems but kept them to use.

This plantable card was made for Mother's Day to honour those who should be with us but are not.

Always and forever loved and thought of, especially on this day.

Paper: Wildflower seed mix (Botanical Paperworks)
Ink: Black, New England Ivy, Olive (CTMH)
Stamps: Love Is, Mini Boxwood Heart Stamp + Cut Combo (The Greetery)

I wanted to try no-line colouring with the Studio Katia Spring Bouquet for Mother's Day. I stamped the image in Milled Lavender distress oxide ink and then coloured it with my Tombow markers. I tried a few different colour combinations and I think the purples are my favourite!

One of my creative, card-making friends had a great idea this Mother's Day - let's make each other cards for our husbands to use! This was such a fun project to work on. Since we both love sunflowers I decided to take out my BotaniCuts Sunflower dies from The Greetery. Using tips from Betsy Veldman and Kay Miller, I diecut the pieces using watercolour paper and then painted them up with distress oxide inks.
It's that time to start making Mother's Day cards, so I thought I would start with some plantable ones! I wanted to see what a group of daisies might look like on a single layer card, so I tried out two different colour combinations. I tried out black in the centre this time for something different!
