A friend asked if I would host a Christmas card making class and I couldn't resist making it cocktail themed with this incredible set from Spellbinders!
Christmas Card Count: 23 + 3 = 26
I die cut a TON of pieces and it took a lot of time! But I am thrilled with the choices. I started out by making three martini glasses for each person - one gold foil + one gold glitter + one silver glitter. Next, I chose some of the embellishments for the glasses - the straw, the Santa hat and belt, the peppermints, the bow, the gingerbread man, some holly and pine.
I decided each person would make three cards so I wanted to do three different backgrounds. The first one was on some watercolour cardstock that we would spray. I took out a variety of my mica stain sprays for everyone to choose from. I chose Merry Mint + Unraveled.
The second card was on an embossed background. I used the Checkered Argyle embossing folder from Spellbinders on Mint Julep + Poblano Pepper + Cherry Pop cardstock from Taylored Expressions. I chose Poblano Pepper for my card. I inked up the top third of the card with Uncharted Marineri distress ink to give some contrast and then added in some white spatters.
The third card was on a patterned paper background. I dug into my old Close To My Heart stash and cut up a few different patterns for people to choose from. I chose a red plaid for my card.
It's a busy time of year but I am so thrilled I made time to host this card class! It was fun with the cocktail theme and I hope to do it again one day!
