I am obsessing over Carly Tee Minner's Beary Sweet collection with Hero Arts and finally took the time to take her class that was included with the collection. I learned so many tips and tricks that I cannot wait to try out again soon!
The first card I made was this sweet gummy bear card. I learned that if you colour the eyes in a grey shade it makes that same colour of cardstock appear just a touch darker, which was the perfect accent. Also, the shine accents are not something I may have tried without seeing how good they look here! I ink blended the heart with the same colour used for the sentiment and love how they match.
The next card I made was the 'hugs' card. Here, I learned that cutting the letters out a few times to raise them up a bit helped elevate this simple design.
For the third card, I did the card I was most looking forward to - the wrapped shaker card! I am so stoked that I finally tried one of these and loved the low amount of fuss associated with making it a shaker! To make the window, I actually cut up some old clear packaging I was just going to throw out!
The fourth card is a shaped card with the cute candy jar. I adore the silver lid and finally tried out making the candy into a sticker by ink blending first on coloured cardstock, then putting down double sided tape before running it through the die cutting machine, peeling off the backing and then dipping into glitter. This technique makes a HUGE difference in creating a sugared look!
The final card I made is a shaker with candy on top this time! I love that silver scoop and had fun choosing some bright colours for my gummy worms. I also learned how to properly shape a sentiment around my circular window using my MISTI.
Thanks for an amazing class, Carly!
